Benefits
- Environmentally Friendly
Today many people are more aware of – and concerned with – exposure to chemicals used in processing and finishing wood products. Weathered wood is untreated and chemical-free, enabling a cleaner, more natural environment. The use of stain and finishing products is not required.
- Maintenance Free
For those people who prefer to spend their time enjoying their interior and exterior environments instead of caring for them, weathered wood is virtually maintenance free. Weathered wood will maintain its unique blue-gray finish and rugged texture for years to come. Imperfections, distressing, and the soft gray color are part of the beauty of the wood. If unprotected in exterior environments, weathering will continue naturally.
- Adds Design and Dimension
Weathered wood can help you to create rooms that invoke feelings of times gone by and reminders of treasured memories. It can also be used to transform spaces from ordinary to extraordinary by adding color, depth, and a sense of history.
WEATHERED WOOD
The trend to use weathered wood for both exterior and interior finishing is continuing to grow. Weathered wood products add a rich, rustic dimension to projects from exterior siding to interior trim. Once used only for creating a rustic looking exterior on newer homes, weathered wood is now seen in every room of every style of home; in commercial settings; and continues to be used creatively on exteriors. To meet the growing needs of builders, craftsman, and home-owners, RBM Lumber is now offering a line of interior weathered wood that includes trim, mouldings, paneling, wainscoting, and picture frame stock.
